Gamification Guide

Welcome to the Sheerxirfad learning platform! Our gamification system is designed to make your learning journey more engaging, rewarding, and fun. This guide explains everything you need to know about earning points, unlocking badges, climbing the leaderboard, and maintaining your learning streak.

Points System

What Are Points?

Points are rewards you earn for completing learning activities on the platform. They track your progress, unlock achievements, and determine your rank on the leaderboard.

How to Earn Points

Important Rules

• One-Time Rewards: You earn points only once per activity. Watching the same lesson twice won't give you points again.

• Automatic Tracking: Points are awarded automatically when you complete activities.

• No Expiration: Points never expire and accumulate over your lifetime.

Point Types Explained

• Total Points: Your current active points used for ranking.

• Lifetime Points: All points you've ever earned, this number never decreases.

• Points Spent: Points used for rewards or redemptions (if applicable).

Levels & Progression

How Levels Work

As you earn points, you automatically level up. Each level requires more points than the previous one.

Formula: Points needed for next level = Current Level × 100

There is no maximum level, you can keep leveling up indefinitely.

Level Benefits

• Higher Rank: Better position on the leaderboard.

• Achievement Unlocks: Access to exclusive badges.

• Progress Tracking: Visual representation of your learning journey.

• Recognition: Show off your dedication to learning.

Viewing Your Progress

Check your current level and progress in your dashboard:

• Current Level: Your active level.

• Points to Next Level: How many more points you need.

• Progress Percentage: Visual bar showing your advancement.

Badge System

There are two types of badges: Achievement Badges and Streak Badges.

1. Achievement Badges

Achievement badges are automatically awarded when you complete a certain number of courses.

Badge Tiers:

• 🥉 Bronze, Entry-level achievements

• 🥈 Silver, Intermediate achievements

• 🥇 Gold, Advanced achievements

• 💎 Platinum, Expert achievements

• 💠 Diamond, Master achievements

Each badge comes with bonus points added to your total when you earn it. Once earned, badges are yours forever.

2. Streak Badges

Streak badges reward your consistency and daily learning habits. They are earned by maintaining a consecutive daily learning streak.

Learning Streaks

What Is a Learning Streak?

A learning streak tracks how many consecutive days you've engaged in learning activities on the platform.

How to Build Your Streak

You only need to complete one learning activity per day to maintain your streak. Qualifying activities include:

• Watching a lesson

• Completing a quiz

• Taking an exam

• Finishing a course section

• Any learning activity that shows progress

Streak Statistics

• Current Streak: Your active consecutive days.

• Longest Streak: Your personal best streak ever.

• Total Days Active: Total days you've been active (not necessarily consecutive).

• Last Activity Date: When you last engaged in learning.

Streak Freeze

Life happens. The Streak Freeze feature protects your streak if you miss a day.

• One freeze per month: You can use one streak freeze each calendar month.

• 24-hour protection: The freeze lasts for one day.

• Automatic reset: Freezes reset on the 1st of each month and do not carry over.

How to use a freeze:

1. Go to your Streaks dashboard.

2. Click "Use Streak Freeze."

3. Your streak is protected for 24 hours.

4. Resume learning before the freeze expires.

Important: You must activate the freeze before your streak breaks. You can only use one freeze per month.

Leaderboard Rankings

How the Leaderboard Works

The leaderboard displays the top 100 learners on the platform based on learning activity and consistency.

Ranking Criteria

1. Primary: Current Streak, the higher your active streak, the better your rank.

2. Secondary: Total Points, used to break ties when streaks are equal.

What You'll See

For each learner on the leaderboard:

• Rank (position)

• Name and photo

• Current streak

• Total points

How to Climb the Leaderboard

• Maintain your streak, learn every single day.

• Complete full courses for maximum points.

• Aim for perfect quiz scores to earn bonus points.

• Earn badges by completing courses.

• Stay consistent, daily learning beats sporadic bursts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do points expire? No. Points never expire and accumulate forever.

Why didn't I get points for an activity? You only earn points once per activity. If you've already completed that lesson or quiz, you won't earn points for it again.

Do instructors earn points? Yes. Instructors earn points just like students when they engage in learning activities. They also appear on the leaderboard.

Do admins earn points? No. Platform administrators are excluded from the points system.

What happens if I miss a day? Your streak resets to 0. Use a streak freeze to protect against this.

Do weekends count toward streaks? Yes. Streaks run every day, including weekends and holidays.

What time does the day reset? Days reset at midnight (00:00) in your local timezone.

Why is someone with fewer points ranked higher than me? The leaderboard prioritizes current streak over points. A higher streak always ranks better.
